Alice Rose Hortian touched the lives of many with her unwavering kindness and generosity. Born in Teaneck, NJ in 1955, Alice's journey led her to become a beloved teachers aid at St. Augustine's Parish in New City, NY, where she shared her passion for nurturing young minds.
Preceded in death by her parents Sona and Charles Doudoukjian.
Alice is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Steven Hortian, daughter Christine (Angel) Figueroa, grandchildren Angeline Figueroa, Ariana Figueroa; brothers, Richard Doudoukjian, Charles Doudoukjian, Jr., and Fr. Stepanos Doudoukjian.
Those who knew Alice remember her not only for her dedicated work but also for the beautiful memories she created. From working at Castro Convertible to traveling on the Castro yacht with her friend Bernadette Castro and embarking on a romantic honeymoon across Europe and Greece with her beloved husband, Steve, Alice's life was filled with warmth and adventure.
Alice's giving nature knew no bounds; she was described as an "Angel" and "Steve's princess," embodying qualities of grace, love, and support for others. Her melodious voice, caring demeanor, and ability to forge friendships effortlessly left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege to know her.
In addition to her memorable career and vibrant personality, Alice found joy in simple pleasures like spending time with Steve – their love story being nothing short of perfect. She adored teaching children and took immense pleasure in watching them grow. Her cat Whiskers held a special place in her heart, alongside indulging in crossword puzzles and online games with friends. Alice also enjoyed cruising with Steve and church friends and taking walks around Rockland Lake with Christine.
Alice was a Sunday school teacher and a devoted parishioner at Armenian Church of the Holy Martyrs in Queen, NY, as well as St. Leon Armenian Apostolic Church.
Services to celebrate Alice's life will be held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home in Nashville. A visitation will take place on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 3:00pm ~ 7:00pm and Friday, March 8, 2024 from 10:30am ~ 11:30am with a Celebration of Life at 11:30am and the burial to immediately follow.
