Vickie Roberts, 63, of Nashville Tennessee, passed away on May 8, 2022.
Vickie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her focus every day was family, and she was up for any adventure when together. Whether sleeping in a tent at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon or on a river cruise in Europe, she loved travel and being outdoors. Vickie created joy in her life by making others happy. Simple things produced the strongest memories. From making school lunches with sandwiches cut into shapes to packing individual activity boxes to entertain her girls on driving adventures out West, Vickie always tried to make everyone feel special.
Even though she worked full time, she eagerly sacrificed her personal time to be that super mom. She attended all the gymnastics classes, Girl Scout meetings, dance lessons, ball games, and cheerleading events. She took pleasure in being the party planner whether it was a birthday celebration, wedding, or baby shower.
She was always willing to drop everything to be with her grandkids. Being at the pool and hearing the words, “watch me grandma”, brought so much delight for Vickie. The highlights of her beach vacations were keeping up with toddlers running on the beach and helping to build sand castles by the tide pools. She enjoyed s’mores by the campfire, decorating Christmas cookies, and celebrating Thanksgiving at The Cabin. Holidays
were always special because it meant family was together. Her smile and laughter touched the heart of all who knew her.
Vickie was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Kinkel and her sister, Wendy Kinkel. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years Jeff Roberts; daughters Stephanie Roberts, Emily McReynolds (Josh), Courtney Williams (Brian); grandchildren Josie, Hazel, Quinton, and Oliver; father Don Kinkel; siblings Deborah Torgersen-Paul (Don), Doug Kinkel (Debbie), Greg Kinkel (Brenda), and Bryan Kinkel (Lisa).
There will be a memorial gathering on Sunday, May 15 from 12:00pm till 2:00pm at The Pavilion at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, 9090 Highway 100 in Nashville. If preferred, donations may be made to the National Park Foundation or the American Cancer Society
