Obituary

Richard Gary Cox, Sr. age 85 of Nashville, TN. passed away on April 27, 2023. Preceded in death by his wife, Faye Cox; daughter, Sherry Cox, mother, Darris Goodrich and father, Maurice Cox.

Survived by his loving wife, Carole Cox; son, Gary (Wendy) Cox, stepsons, Mika (Bev) Douglas, Jody Douglas, Alan (Laura) Douglas; grandchildren, Olivia Cox, Garrett Cox; step grandchildren, Tyler Douglas, Olivia Douglas, Amy Douglas, Kyle Douglas; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Rickey Goodrich, Scotty (Brent) Goodrich, Mike (Joan) Goodrich; sister, Faye (Howard) Dodson, numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.  

Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed working and cutting grass at The Golf Club of Tennessee. Richard was a member of Bellevue Church of Christ and later The Church at Harpeth Heights where he sang in the choir and was a Deacon. Aside from golfing he enjoyed bowling, dancing, and coaching baseball. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

There will be visitation Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 1:30pm ~ 3:30pm with a Celebration of Life at 3:30pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home 9090 Highway 100 Nashville, TN 37221.
