Patrick Whelan

Patrick F. Whelan age 82, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on May 30, 2022. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Edna Whelan.

Survived by loving wife of 64 years, Mary Sue Whelan, sons; Mike Whelan, Pat Whelan, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous loved ones.

Pat was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed playing sports like tennis, softball, and golfing. Pat was a great athlete in his younger years and loved anything competitive. He even loved to still play golf despite his health issues right to the end.

He let his actions more than words to show Jesus to anyone he met. He loved to study God’s word and teach others for many years as a Sunday School teacher. Every person through his eyes had value and great potential. He was not one to focus on negative things.

Mostly he was a man at peace with himself, others and full of hope in an eternal life exactly as described in the scriptures. He had great joy through and because of his faith.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

There will be visitation Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm and Friday 12:00pm until 12:30pm with a Celebration of Life at 12:30pm all at Bellevue Baptist Church 7400 US-70S Nashville, TN 37221. The burial will immediately follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens 9090 Highway 100 Nashville, Tennessee 37221.
