Marilyn Greer softly fell asleep in death on Friday, June 17, 2022.
She was a gentle soul, a sincere Christian, and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Preceded in death by her parents, Chester & Frances Wilkes and her sister Ruth Pyburn. Survived by her loving husband Gene (they would have celebrated their 62nd anniversary this August), sons Dan (Shelley) of Murfreesboro, Don (Terry) of Rockvale, D’Wayne (Melissa) of Fairview, daughter April (Charlie) Wilkerson of Fairview, grandchildren Danielle (Mike) Greer of Bell Buckle, Lindsey (Kyle) Hurley of Colorado Springs, Co, Zane of Murfreesboro, Ethan (Sarah) of Fairview, Cody and Luke of Rockvale, Tonya (JT) Rucker of Shelbyville, great-grandchildren Isabella & Levi Hurley and Sadie & Charlotte Greer. Also survived by sister Sandra Colby, brother-in-law Jack (Susan) Greer, sisters-in-law Sarah, Sybil, Mary Greer, numerous nieces and nephews, close spiritual friends and a worldwide spiritual family…and her little dog Abby.
After many years of chronic illnesses and hospitalizations, her heart gently stopped last Friday. Her kind disposition, sweet smile, and loving personality will be missed by all of those who knew her. She has the Bible’s promise of a resurrection and had a peace that only the scriptures can bring.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
