John "Jack" Craw

John “Jack” Craw, age 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on March 16, 2023, after suffering an unexpected stroke on March 13. Jack was survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Kim Craw; son Alex Craw; daughter Ashley (Nik) Keapproth; grandchildren Thomas and Elizabeth Keapproth; brothers Robert (Rosalyn) Craw and Joseph Craw; sister Marguerite (William) Yanovitch, as well as numerous family, friends, and loved ones.

Born on June 1, 1952 in Frederick, Maryland, Jack moved to Nashville in 1973 following his passion for music.  In 1986, he traded his passion for music with golf when he opened Jack’s Golf Shop which he owned until he retired in 2013. He also hosted The Golf Zone radio show on 104.5FM with his wife Kim for many years. Even after retirement, he helped to organize and host the Hori Pro / MOJO Honors Golf Tournament every year to raise money for Tunnels to Towers, one of his favorite charities.  In 2019, he was even named a Living Legend by the MOJO Honors Tournament for his contribution to the music industry.

More than any of his many accomplishments, he considered his biggest achievement to be convincing Kim (Hylton) Craw to marry him on May 25, 1980, and he loved her devotedly until the day he passed on. Jack also had a passion for being outside whether it was playing golf, fishing, grilling, doing yard work or fixing a tool or machine. Some neighbors knew him for riding his blue lawn mower up and down the street to cut his son’s grass who lives nearby. He took pride in his work and it showed. Jack never met a stranger and made everyone feel welcome.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 4 at 11AM at St. Henry Catholic  Church, with a visitation from 9-11AM at St. Henry. A reception will follow after Mass.  In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider making a donation to Tunnels to Towers, https://t2t.org/.
