Hans A. Schmidt, known to his friends and family as Gus, son of Kathleen, born in San Antonio, TX on October 9, 1977 passed away peacefully on April 16, 2021. He was 43 years old. Gus leaves behind his loving wife, Melinda. They shared 17 beautiful years together. Gus and Melinda experienced many adventures, road-tripping all over the United States. They loved to visit national monuments and state capitols. Gus also loved Star Wars, football, architecture, NASCAR racing and most recently, the Tennessee Whiskey Trail. Gus and Melinda moved to Tennessee from Texas in early 2020 and continued the adventures they loved so much. Each trip had 20 destinations planned meticulously by Gus himself. They have had endless wonderful memories. Gus will be remembered for his magnetic sense of humor, intelligence and his confident yet humble personality. Though his life was far too short, he lived every moment to the fullest. In additon to his wife, Gus leaves behind his mother, Kathleen and husband, Mike, his brother, Nathan, his Big Brother, Albert and his nieces and nephews, Caleb, Serenity, Fayth, Maisen, Jayden, Isabel, Emerie, Gabriel, Grace and Nevaeh. He follows his beloved grandfather, Loren and grandmother, Loretta. Gus will be deeply missed but always in our hearts and memories.
