Carl Ridlen

Fairview

Carl William Ridlen was born January 16, 1926, in Henderson, Iowa, to James Pearl and Ethel (Roll) Ridlen.  He was one of 10 children.  The family moved to Western Nebraska/Eastern Colorado. Carl was inducted into the U.S. Army and served during World War II. After his discharge, he returned  home to farm with family.

Carl married Virginia Irene Milner on April 27, 1947 at the Methodist parsonage in Imperial NE and were married for over 71 years. They farmed in Southwest Nebraska and Northeastern Colorado

until moving to Omaha NE in 1959 to work for Western Electric. In 1972 Carl moved his family to the Atlanta GA area while continuing to work for Western Electric. Carl and his wife moved to Fairview,TN in 1990 upon Carl’s retirement.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and raising Hereford cattle on his farm in Fairview, TN.

Carl accepted the Lord as his personal savior as a child and faithfully followed the Lord thoughout this life, sharing his faith with those he came in contact. Praise the Lord that he is now with his Lord.

Carl passed away Saturday afternoon, September 25, 2021 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville TN at the age of 95.

He is survived by two children daughter Carol (Jim) Allen of Shabbona IL, and son Larry (Karen) Ridlen of Fairview TN. Grandkids; Kathy (Wade) Douglass of Indianoplis IN, Jon (Kazumi) Allen of Tustin California, Sarai (Eddie) Casiano of Dekalb IL, Rebecca (Rick) Schwantes of Dekalb IL, Melissa (Chad) DeLano of Fairview TN, Beth (Brandon) Taylor of Fairview TN, Jennifer (Dylan) Pine of Fairview TN, Stephanie (Anthony) Curatolo of Fairview TN and 23 Great grandchildren, sister Lucille (Verlon) Dinnel, Imperial NE. Many nieces and nephews and friends.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Virginia, daughter Sharon and brothers: Lee, Paul, Ray, Roy and Robert; sisters: Marie, Lois and Pauline

Visitation for Carl Ridlen will be Saturday, 11:00 to 1:00 at the Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens in Nashville, TN. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 with Dr. Ed Anthony officiating. Interment will follow at the Harpeth Hills Cemetery.
