Bonnie Helgesen

February 12, 1973 — October 6, 2021

Bonnie began her journey in Nashville, TN on February 12, 1973 and closed early in her life on October 6, 2021. Bonnie had a caring spirit and generous heart that could see the best in everyone, and seemed to always bring out their best. Her insatiable love of life could be seen particularly on the river in her kayak and making memories with her family. No one who ever knew her could ever forget her beautiful smile, infectious zest for life, love of bling, the group Journey, and won-tons!

The relationship she had with her mother, Cindy, was like no other, an unbreakable bond that allowed them to create an understanding and confidence that many times did not need to be vocalized. With her husband Lars, there was that special place where no one truly understands the depth of love they shared.

Bonnie was a proud mother to her beloved son, Devon whom she cherished with all her heart. Bonnie and Devon shared a special bond that only a mother and son could appreciate. Devon was the light of her life.

All others that have been blessed to share life with Bonnie, also found and have their own special memories that are held dearly in each heart. If she could share one thought with us today, it would be something like – “Life is fragile, short and needs to be lived to the max.”

Bonnie is survived by her son, Devon, husband and best friend Lars Helgesen, mother Cindy Suiter Bond and husband Alan, father David Harvey Wells and wife Lynne, father-in-law Thor Helgesen and wife Carol, brothers David Wells (Alley), Mark Bond (Jolie), and Craig Bond (deceased), along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of amazing, dear friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held October 23, 4pm – Dusk, Edwin Warner Park, Site 2, 7311 Highway 100, Nashville, TN 37221. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to: Meals on Wheels, 129 W Fowlkes St #107, Franklin, TN 37064 or Gilda’s Club, 1707 Division Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
