Woodson Newsom Reasonover of Nashville, TN. passed away at The Meadows on Saturday, August 13, 2022, age 91.

Newsom was predeceased by his wife of over 69 years, Dorothy Thomas Reasonover; siblings Caroline, Ruby, Sue, Terry, Harry, and Faye; and is survived by his siblings Herby Reasonover (Earlene) and Ann Hoffman; Daughters, Sherry Chambers (Larry), Renee Cashion (Kyle), and Melanie Wick (Patrick); much loved grandchildren, Laura Chambers, Clay Chambers, Jake Cashion, and Austin Wick; and adored great-grandson, Lucas Chambers.

Newsom was a sportsman at Antioch High School, playing baseball, basketball and football. He could regale you with specifics of ballgames almost to his dying day. He continued playing baseball and softball well into his 30’s. He graduated from AHS in 1949 and attended David Lipscomb University. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, and worked for Washington Manufacturing Company for 37 years as a cost accountant. Newsom enjoyed collecting coins, baseballs and baseball hats, and was proud of his collections. After retirement, he developed a love for learning different languages and would enjoy trying them out on family and friends. He had a song to sing for every little thing, which especially entertained his caregivers.

Visitation with the family will begin on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at The Pavilion at Harpeth Hills from 1:30 until service time at 2:00 pm. Visitation will continue after funeral service until 4:00 pm.
