William Charles "Bill" Stewart, Jr.

William C. “Bill” Stewart, Jr. age 85, of Lexington TN, passed away on February 27, 2022.

Preceded in death by wife, Molly Stewart, parents, William Stewart, Marie Connally Stewart and Wilford Stewart, son, William Charles Stewart III.

Survived by wife, Jo Ann Anderson, daughters, Carla (Tim) Taylor, Melissa Beard, grandchildren, Jacob Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, Katie Taylor, Justin (Emily) Wicks, daughter-in-law, Linda Stewart.

Bill also known as Billy Charles was born at the Henderson County Poor Farm that was run by his grandparents. He lived in Lexington, TN most of his early life and graduated from Jackson High School. Bill attended Lambuth College in Jackson TN, where he met and married Virginia McRae in 1955 who was the mother of his two children. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 – 1970 where he served two tours in Vietnam. After the military he moved to the Nashville area and married Molly Chandler in 1974. They were married for 37 years. Bill was a beloved teacher at Fairview High School for many years. After retirement he and Molly enjoyed traveling and spending time with their grandchildren. Later in life Bill married Jo Ann and moved to Lexington TN, to live with her and her daughter Nancy.

Bill was a proud member of Good Sams, Circle K Club, ACBL and Mensa.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 12:30pm until 2:30pm with a Celebration of Life at 2:30pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.
