William Victor Mangrum

November 10, 1950 — March 3, 2024

Victor was born on November 10, 1950 to Virgil and Jewel Mangrum of Nashville, TN. As a youth he moved to Fairview where he played football for the Yellow Jackets. He married his high school sweetheart Glenda Mangrum and raised a family in Fairview. Graduating from Vanderbilt University, Victor worked in several IT positions before becoming Director of Information Technology for TDOT, from whence he would eventually retire. Victor was a Sunday school teacher and a deacon and always sought to help improve the effectiveness of the ministries. Like his wife, he was a Commodore fan, Yellow Jacket fan, and really a fan of anything his children and grandchildren did. He was a lifelong lover of every kind of baseball, from little league to the majors. Along with his wife, Victor hosted church youth group events for his children and grandchildren for almost 3 decades. Victor attended First Baptist Church for almost 40 years, serving in many ministries, from World Changers, Deacon Family ministries, Sr Adult ministries, and Operation Christmas Child. During his final years he joined the online community of Crosspoint Church. He shared his love for Jesus with everyone in his life by his words and deeds.

Victor is preceded in death by his loving wife, Glenda Mangrum. He is survived by his children, Kimberly (Ryan) Simpson, Andrew (Stacey) Mangrum, and Mickey (Leah) Mangrum; grandchildren, Zachary (Alison) Mangrum, Brady Mangrum, Benjamin Mangrum, Colton Mangrum, Hudson Mangrum, and Logan Mangrum; great grandchildren, Meritt Mangrum and Alex Mangrum; and siblings Janice (John) Nutter, Richard (Sheila) Mangrum, Mark (Angie) Mangrum, Steve Mangrum and
Michael (Amy) Mangrum.
