William Lewis Sovine, 78, of Gulf Shores, AL passed away October 12 at his residence. Bill served the greater Nashville community for 40+ years as an insurance agent earning a CLU and ChFC designations. In his younger days Bill was one of the founding members of the Bellevue Volunteer Fire Department and most recently shared his love of golf at the Peninsula Golf Club in Gulf Shores. Bill never met a stranger and has many friends across the states.
He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Swint Sovine, son William Kelly Sovine, sister Janet Sovine Shepard and brother Michael W. Sovine.
Survivors include his sweetheart Ima Withers and son Richard, children Kymberly Sovine Baruzzini (Brent) of Ardmore, Tn., James Keith Sovine of Gulf Shores, Karyn Sovine Green (Jimmy) of Nashville, Kathleen Sovine Chatham of Lucedale, Ms., brother Roger Wayne Sovine (Shirley), grandchildren Michael (Casey) Baruzzini, Sister Mary Angelica Baruzzini, Jack (Liz) Baruzzini, William (Brianna) Baruzzini, Philip (Jennifer) Baruzzini, James Baruzzini, Timothy Baruzzini, Jude Baruzzini, Matthew Baruzzini, Will (Ali) Sovine, Elizabeth Sovine, Brenna (Chase) Sillars, Kennedy Sovine, Lauryn Green, Jacob Green, Isabella Green, Eliza Green, Gabriel Green, Dominic Green, Virginia Green and Dean Oldham, great grandchildren Lucia Baruzzini, Max Baruzzini, Laura Baruzzini, Thomas Baruzzini, George Baruzzini, Maria Baruzzini, Elena Baruzzini, Emilia Baruzzini, Giulia Baruzzini, Joseph Baruzzini, Oliver Baruzzini, Leona Baruzzini, Zion Baruzzini, Jonah Baruzzini, Belen Baruzzini, Walker Zimmer, William Peter Sovine, Carter Sillars, and Kellen Sillars.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Gulf Shores, AL at 11:00AM with Fr. Carucci officiating. The family will receive friends at Our Lady of the Gulf Life Center from 10:00 until 11:00 AM. The family will have a celebration of life gathering at the Oyster Bay Village Clubhouse on Tuesday October 17, 2023 at 1:00PM.
Burial will be in Nashville, Tennessee on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Harpeth Hills Cemetery 9090 Hwy. 100. The family would like to invite all to a gathering at the Pavilion there at the cemetry to share memories and stories after the burial. Come and spend some time remembering the man we all knew and loved. n we all knew and loved.
