Tia Blankenship

August 21, 2001 — December 4, 2024

Columbia

Tia Blankenship, beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on December 4, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness that touched the hearts of many. Born on August 21, 2001, in Nashville, Tennessee, Tia was a vibrant spirit from her earliest days, known to those who loved her as the "purple princess." Tia was such a good soul.

Tia is survived by her mother, Brandi Blankenship; sister, Summer Alexis Blankenship; brother, Tyler Aldon Blankenship; grandmother, Deion Tucker, fiancé, Trenton McDonald; and step-son, Grayson Kyle McDonald.

Tia's journey through life was marked by her gentleness and very caring heart. Her enthusiasm for life was evident in her interests, from enjoying date nights filled with scary movies, to sharing quiet moments sipping coffee and contemplating her next tattoo. She found joy in nature, whether hiking along the Natchez Trace with Trenton or paddling on the water while kayaking.

Recently, Tia had achieved one of her proudest dreams: she was promoted to a caregiver position at the Kings Daughters School, where her compassion and dedication to helping others truly shined. Tia was known for her incredible cooking skills, with her best dishes being delicious meatloaf, chicken bacon ranch pasta, and classic spaghetti, which she prepared with love for family and friends alike.

A graduate of Hickman High School in 2019, Tia was cherished not only for her accomplishments but for her ability to touch so many lives. She had a profound love for butterflies and dragonflies, perhaps reflecting her own vibrant spirit and connection to nature's beauty.

Tia's role as a stepmother to her beloved son Grayson was a source of immense pride and joy in her life. Her gentle guidance and loving presence will be sorely missed by him.

Tia had a child-like love for the book, The Giving Tree, by Shel Silverstein. A favorite quote from the book being, “And she loved a boy very, very much – even more than she loved herself.”

As we come together to remember Tia, we celebrate a life that bloomed brightly but was cut too short, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. She may no longer walk with us, but her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those she left behind. Tia will forever be in our hearts, cherished, and is very deeply missed.
