With deep sadness, the family of Thomas “Tommy” Larry Stark shares news of his passing on August 21, 2026, in Nashville, TN, following a short illness.

He was born on January 23, 1943, to Lawrence and Lucye (Fyke) Stark in Nashville, TN.

After graduating from Hillsboro High School in 1961, Tommy served his country in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Airman First Class. He went on to build a varied career in manufacturing, hospitality, insurance, and mortgage lending and earned an associate of science degree in business and accounting from Aquinas College in 1972.

On April 3, 1971, he married Beverly Ann Sadler, and together they built a life centered around their three children.

Tommy was an avid sports fan, especially devoted to Vanderbilt, and he found simple joy in gardening, tackling projects around the house, and sharing friendly conversation with those around him.

He is survived by his devoted wife Beverly Ann (Sadler) Stark; children, Marianne Herron (Karsten) of Fairview, TN, Jennifer Call of Fairview, TN, and Robert Stark of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Faith Miller (Robert) of Gardendale, AL, Marisa Jackson of Seattle, WA, and Joseph Call of Fairview, TN; and great-grandson, Finnis Andrew Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Lucye (Fyke) Stark.

Those who knew Tommy often said, “He never met a stranger or a cup of coffee too hot,” and his family takes comfort in imagining him greeting new friends in Heaven with that same warmth and energy.

A private family committal service will take place at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
