Thomas D. Porter

Porter, Thomas Dickson – age 83, of Fairview, TN passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025, after spending two weeks in the Vanderbilt ICU following a heart procedure. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bennetta Neal, father, Finis Porter, stepfather, Robert Neal, sisters, Bobbie Sue Neal Coppinger and Faye Hooper, Aunt Lou Yates and Uncle Elvis Yates.

He is survived by his wife, Vera Porter, daughter, Theresa Porter, son Charles Porter (Vicky), grandchildren, Joshua Porter (Blair), Farran Mott (Curtis), Oakley Honeycutt (Dana), 5 great-grandchildren, sisters Wanda Neal Hooper (Bill Young), Debra Ashburn (Gilbert), Sherry McCrickard; many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

He was a good man who loved his family. He had a great work ethic; and owned his own heating and air conditioning business and was very dedicated to his customers.

He loved watching golf, racing and the Titans football games. He loved to go fishing.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, Hwy 100. The Service will be at 1:30 PM with burial to follow.
