Thelma Louise Stinson Jones departed this life Sunday, September 13, 2026 surrounded by her family.

Thelma was born in Fairview Tn., on August 31, 1934, to Willard and Odell Stinson. At the event of WWII, Willard and his family moved to Baltimore, MD where Willard worked in an airplane manufacturing plant. After the war was over, they moved back to Fairview where she spent the remainder of her life.

On February 13, 1950, Thelma married John Cleveland Jones. They were married 45 years until his passing in 1995. Thelma, and John had 3 children Johnny Lee (Michelle) Jones, Jerry Wayne (Traci) Jones, and Janet Louise (Craig) Cropper.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ronny Stinson, Carlton Stinson, and one sister Rosa Morton.

Thelma is survived by sister Esta Hickman, and brothers, James Stinson, and Johnny Stinson.

Thelma had six grandchildren Johnnathan (Jennifer) Jones, Brandon (Sarah) Jones, Ashley (Eric) Rose, Leslie Jones, Joshua (Christy) Ladd, and Jeremy (Ryan) Vore.

Thelma had several great grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren.

Thelma was a loving parent, grandparent, and great grandparent. Her home was always open, and filled with love, and kindness, and many home cooked meals. Thelma was an excellent cook and just had a way with fried chicken. She loved quilting, playing cards, going to ballgames that her family would play in. She loved going to the lake, and spending time with all of her family. She also loved going to church, and spending time with her friend, which she had many of. Thelma loved her community Fairview and loved living there.

The lives of her family, and friends will never be the same without her.

The family cordially invites relatives and friends to visit on Friday, September 18, 2026, from four o'clock in the afternoon until eight o'clock in the evening at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 9090 TN-100 in Nashville. The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at ten o'clock in the morning with visiting starting at eight o'clock in the morning also at the funeral home. The committal service will immediately follow.
