Terry Tollefson was born on November 14, 1950, in Nashville, Tennessee. He passed away on October 29, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee. Terry was a remarkable man and beloved member of the community. He is cherished by so many who deeply miss him.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Norman and Kathryn Woods Tollefson and two life-long friends, Bob Gordon and Dave Scheibert.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Sharon Jones Tollefson; children, Wil Tollefson, Eric (Brittany) Tollefson, and grandchildren, Owen, Emmaline, and expected grandson Atlas; sister, Lucinda (Mark) Jolly and niece Katie Jolly.
Growing up, Terry and his sister, Lucinda, were both adopted. While they were children, they acclimated to a family filled with cousins. Terry loved hanging out with all of them, including Jane, Tom, Tommy Steve, Judy, Genie, and John. The family all loved football, and since the family was mostly in Alabama, there were rivalries between the University of Alabama and Auburn. Terry didn't miss a game. He was a steadfast devotee of Crimson Tide football and spent many Saturdays cheering passionately while clad in crimson or white always matching whatever color the team was wearing. His loyalty to the sport was evident, and he relished the camaraderie of fellow fans.
Terry was hard-working and devoted to his family and community. In his many years working at Tractor Supply Company in Fairview, he made many friends, and customers always looked for him when they came in. He was also a very active member in the Fairview Lions Club for many years. He never met a stranger and was always curious as to what you were doing, no matter what it was.
Terry was immensely proud of his two sons. He believed in God, who ultimately relieved Terry of his cancer and pain. Terry had joy in his life until his final days, enjoying a Coke whenever he could. When he was a teenager, he would go to Alabama and help bale hay with his grandfather, where he first fell in love with being on a farm. Terry found joy and solace on his country farm, where he spent 36 years, driving his tractor and keeping horses, donkeys, chickens, cats, and dogs. He also loved cars, specifically Chevrolet Corvettes, so much that he eventually purchased one of his own in bright red. He fixed it up and proudly drove around Fairview and to the local cruise in whenever he could.
As we remember Terry Tollefson, we celebrate a life marked by passion, integrity, and an unwavering love for family and friends. His legacy will live on through the memories he created and the hearts he touched along the journey. Terry will be forever missed.
