Sharleen Bango

Martha Sharleen Johnson Bango, beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 7, 2025 leaving a void her family cannot fill. Sharleen lived a long, full life defined by faith, family, and a giving heart.

She was born in Greensboro, Alabama on April 8, 1943 to Gorden and Della Seale who preceded her in death. She was the second in the family having an older brother Thomas Seale and her younger brother, Ricky Seale.

Sharleen was a devoted mother to Scott Allen Johnson and Rhonda Usry, her pride and joy. She loved being their mother and they felt that in the love and support she provided. She also took great pride being “Nanny” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sharleen was preceded in death by her older brother, Thomas Seale; husband and father of her children, Joe Allen Johnson; and her 2nd husband, Robert Bango. She is survived by her children, Scott Allen (Lynn) Johnson, Rhonda Usry (J.R.), her younger brother, Ricky(Debbie) Seale; 4 grandchildren, Ashley (Brad) Hunt, Blake (Mallory) Johnson, Zach Stephens (Xena), and Lindsey Usry (Gavin), her 7 great-grandchildren, Addie Hunt, Emory Johnson, Everleigh Hunt, Rylee Stephens, Charli Hunt, Easton Brown, and Ella Kate Johnson and beloved nieces and nephews.

Sharleen was a devoted servant of Christ known for her unwavering faith and kindness. Her faith in Christ guided her every step. She was a faithful member of Harpeth Heights Baptist Church and loved her “JOY” class. She will be remembered for her joyful spirit and love for God’s word.

Sharleen delighted in fun and maintained a love of adventure and learning throughout her life. She loved to venture out and would plan day trips for her family. Joe and Sharleen as well as Bob and Sharleen had many adventures as a couple over the years, as well as with their friends and family.

There will be a private family graveside service followed by a gathering of family and friends to celebrate Sharleen’s life on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 2:00-5:00 pm at The Pavillion at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, Tennessee, 37221.

In lieu of flowers, feel free to donate in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association or charity of your choice.
