Scarlet Marie West, a beloved pillar of strength and kindness, passed away peacefully in Nashville, TN, on August 17, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on March 26, 1956, in Nashville, she devoted her life to supporting others as she worked in retail and customer service at Caster Knott. Known for her unwavering dedication, Scarlet faced her battles with tenacity and grace, always putting her best foot forward and being there for those who needed her most.
Scarlet's heart was as vast as her spirit. She was a loving mother to her daughter, April M. Piper, with whom she cherished countless moments filled with warmth and laughter. Together, they found joy in simple pleasures like shopping and decorating for the Christmas season, nurturing a bond that will forever warm the hearts of those who knew them. A true family-oriented individual, Scarlet loved spending time with her family and embraced every opportunity to create lasting memories.
Her personality shone brightly in everything she did. Loving, caring, strong-willed, humble, and courageous, Scarlet found joy in attending church, sharing her faith in Jesus Christ, and participating in community activities. Her joyful spirit was matched by her enthusiasm for life; she enjoyed watching football games, immersing herself in the emotional stories of Hallmark movies, taking leisurely walks along the trails, singing along to country music, and delighting in the thrill of concerts. Once a week on Tuesdays, she indulged herself with hamburgers from Toot's, relishing every bite with a smile.
The compassion she had for others extended well beyond her immediate family. Whether she was coloring pictures, playing bingo, swimming, or simply sharing her time with friends and family, Scarlet’s kindness left a lasting impact on everyone around her.
Scarlet's legacy is enriched by precious memories shared with her beloved parents, Harold Dee Witt and Claudia Marie Timbs, who predeceased her, as well as her loving grandmother Willie Lee Timbs.
As we celebrate Scarlet’s life, we invite family and friends to join us for visitation on August 22, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 AM, and a graveside service at 12:30 PM, all to be held at Harpeth Hills Memory Garden, Funeral Home, & Cremation Center in Nashville, TN.
