Obituary

Santosh V. Shamanur, age 52, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

Santosh was preceded in death by his mother, Hema Shamanur; sister, Sahana Shamanur; and grandmother-in-law, Arlene Wallis.

He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Amberlee Shamanur; three children, Ashlee Shamanur, Samantha Shamanur, and Joshua Shamanur; father, Virupakshappa Shamanur; siblings, Sandesh Shamanur and Soumya “Pinky” Jay Annaji; along with numerous extended family members and dear friends.

Santosh was a man of deep faith whose love for God guided the way he lived his life. A devoted Christian and God-fearing man, he faithfully served as a deacon at Forest Hills Baptist Church for several years. His gentle spirit, patience, and genuine kindness made him a wonderful role model to those around him. He had a special place in his heart for children and found great joy in caring for and spending time with the children at his church. His faith was not simply something he spoke about, but something he demonstrated through his actions and the way he treated others.

Above all, Santosh treasured his family. He was a devoted husband and loving father who took great pride in his children. He enjoyed spending time together, creating memories, and taking family vacations. He especially loved the beach, with Hawaii holding a special place in his heart. An avid baseball fan and enthusiastic supporter of University of Tennessee football, Santosh had one final wish: to attend one more Tennessee football game. Thankfully, he was able to fulfill that special wish, creating one last cherished memory doing something he truly loved.

Although often quiet and reserved, Santosh had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for storytelling. Those who knew him best appreciated his ability to share a good story, bring laughter to a conversation, and make even the simplest moments memorable. Professionally, Santosh worked as an accountant for Holiday Inn, bringing the same dedication and steady nature to his work that he demonstrated throughout his life.

Santosh will be remembered for his unwavering faith, gentle heart, quiet humor, and the love he so freely gave to his family and others. His life was a beautiful example of patience, kindness, and devotion to God. While his presence will be deeply missed, the lessons he taught, the stories he shared, and the love he leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, October 18th, 2026, from two o’clock in the afternoon until the time of the Celebration of Life service at three o’clock in the afternoon in the Elevate Worship Center, 2101 Old Hickory Blvd. in Nashville.
