In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Nanna, Sandra R. Booker
With hearts full of love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our sweet Nanna, who left this world on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at the age of 78. Though our hearts are heavy, we are endlessly grateful for the time we had with her — and for the warmth, laughter, and love she left inside of all of us.
Throughout her life, Nanna shared her heart not only with her family and friends, but also with those she worked with. She spent many years working for Gibson Guitar, where she was more than an employee — she was considered part of the family. She loved the Gibson family deeply and held them close to her heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Jackson and Nornia Willard; her beloved sons “Dumplin” Jeff and Pete; her grandson Dalton; her siblings Lois, Brenda, and JoAnn; and her nephew Keith — all of whom she now joins in peace.
Sandra is survived by her devoted Husband, John Booker, whom she shared a life full of love, faith and family. She is also survived by her daughters Stephanie (Floyd), Dorcas (George), and Gina (Mark), who will forever carry her love and spirit forward.
She leaves behind her loving siblings Stanley, Johnny, Wilma, and Jackie, who will miss her dearly and carry her memory always.
She was the proud Nanna to 10 grandchildren — Jonathan, Demetria, Byron, Danielle, Cassie, Shelby, Garrett, AnnaGrace, Lexi, and Leo. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren — Alex, Everett, Eli, Micah, Waylon, Jackson, and Hudson.
To say she will be missed is an understatement. She was the heart of our blended family and the soft place to land for anyone who needed it. Her legacy is one of deep love, home cooked meals, shared stories, and hands that were always reaching out to help or hold.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 29th, 2025 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, and Saturday, August 30th, 2025, starting at 10:30am. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 30th, 2025, at 11:30am. In true Nanna fashion, we ask those attending to bring a memory to share — a story, a smile, or even a laugh in her honor.
