Ruth Nicholson, Age 86 passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026. Her earthly work is completed, and she now rests in the arms of Jesus.
Ruth was born in Nashville, Tennessee to Thomas Andrew and Hattie Lee Perry on July 15, 1939. A woman with deep Christian faith, Ruth lived her life as an example of virtue, kindness, strength and grace. Her gentle spirit, warm smile and steadfast devotion touched every person that was blessed to know her.
Ruth was a member of the White Bluff Church of Christ for 55 years and she would often remind everyone her active years in the church were the happiest time of her life. Her faith was the foundation of her life. She lived for Christ not only with words, but in the quiet way she loved others. She had a heart committed to serving others both in her church and her community, offering help to anyone in need. Ruth used her talent preparing meals for others, teaching Sunday school and supporting church camp and other activities.
Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She raised her four children with patience, wisdom and a nurturing heart. Her greatest joy came from caring for her family and celebrating every milestone. She found happiness in simple things like cooking meals together and having her family come home for birthdays and holidays. She truly embraced her calling as a homemaker with joy. Ruth loved shopping and was an avid doll collector.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Hattie Perry, husband, Bobby Nicholson, brothers, James Perry, Harold Perry, Stan Perry Sr., Thomas Perry, Phillip Perry, sisters, Mary Grove, Mildred Cook and Lorene Hamm.
She is survived by her four children, Tina Butner, Kenny Nicholson (Melissa), Kevin Nicholson (Lesa) and Misty Norfleet (Mike). She had seven great-grandchildren, Emma Jenkins, Addyson Nicholson, Raylan Nicholson, Remy Nicholson, Rex Nicholson, Hudson Daugherty and Matiss Fontanelle.
