Ronald D. Holt, affectionately known as Ron, was born on June 20, 1948, and left this world on January 18, 2026. He dedicated an admirable 40 years of his life to the Nashville Fire Department, a commitment that exemplified his unwavering dedication and hard work. Ron was not only a respected member of the fire department but also a loving father and grandfather, cherished by all who knew him.

A man of many interests, Ron had a profound love for travel, often exploring the beauty of the country. He held a special fondness for classic movies and old music, and these passions were often woven into the fabric of family vacations. It was customary for the family to dine at a seafood restaurant on the beach, which also catered to younger palates with hamburgers, creating countless cherished memories. In later years, he delighted in sharing meals of Mexican food with his grandchildren, Jaxon Zachariah and Mackenzie Jewell, moments that brought him much joy.

Ron’s personality shined through in his honesty, hard-working nature, and occasionally stubborn resolve. His kindness extended beyond his family to the community, as he frequently donated to various causes and lent a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a remarkable ability to meet strangers and turn them into friends, enriching the lives of those around him.

Ron was also passionate about classic cars, spending enjoyable hours watching auto auctions with his son, Jess David (Rebecca) Holt. In addition, he found pleasure in bowling and loved to spoil his grandchildren.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Margaret Holt, and his close-knit family, including his sisters Linda (Virgil) Netherton and Donna Holt, and brother Kenneth (Tamara) Holt.

Ron was predeceased by his father, David Rudolph Holt, Jr., his mother, Juanita Holt, and his sister, Brenda (Richard) Inglis.

A visitation will be held on January 22, 2026, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Harpeth Hills Memory Garden, Funeral Home, & Cremation Center in Nashville, TN, followed by a memorial service from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.

Ronald D. Holt will be remembered as a dedicated public servant, loving family man, and a friend to many. His legacy of love, kindness, and service will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
