Obituary

Robert Burk Farrell, 77, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on July 11, 2026. He was born on October 23, 1948.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Jayne Farrell; his daughters, Dawn Farrell and Rachel Wisekal (Chris Wisekal); his grandsons, Isaac Murphy, Kahlil Goldstein (Sarah Goldstein), Judah Goldstein, and Zade Goldstein (Baley Goldstein); and his siblings, John Farrell and Kay Wilkinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall D. Farrell and Frieda Burk Farrell.

Bob Farrell was a prolific, award-winning musician, songwriter, and performer, loved and respected for his innovation and pioneering creativity in the music industry, particularly in contemporary Christian music. In the 1970s, he was a member of the Christian band Dove, traveling, performing, and evangelizing. He later became one half of the Christian pop duo Farrell and Farrell, where he and his wife, Jayne, traveled the world sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through music.

After coming off the road, Bob devoted much of his career to songwriting, with his songs recorded by numerous pop, country, and Christian artists. His creative works—including rock operas and oratorios—have been performed around the world, including three performances at Carnegie Hall and at the Kennedy Center. He also authored several books and screenplays.

Bob was a mentor to many and a friend to all. He leaves behind a family that carries forward his legacy of music, creative pursuit, and a love of Jesus Christ.
