Richard “Leon” Morrow, Sr. passed away on July 2, 2025 at the age of 84. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Patricia Ann Morrow, his sons Michael Morrow and Richard (Kay) Morrow, five grandchildren - Victoria (Austin) Harris, Riki Morrow, Sarah Mansfield, Aaron (Caty) Mansfield, and Billy (Tessa) Kingsley, and eight great grandchildren - Jaxson, Kayden, Lucy, Grayson, Harper, Stella, Cameron and Hope. Leon Morrow was born in Arab, Alabama and is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Gertrude Morrow. He worked as a manager for the Tennessean/Banner newspaper for many years until he retired.
Leon loved woodworking and made several pieces of furniture, cedar closets and birdhouses along with many other beautiful items.
He was deeply devoted to his family, known very affectionately as Grandpa Leon. He and his wife Pat did everything together, most recently spending time together enjoying his favorite baseball team the Atlanta Braves and watching hallmark movies.
Grandpa Leon helped start the family tradition of singing “happy birthday” extremely off key at each family member’s birthday gathering. He was always smiling and laughing, telling funny stories and making everyone laugh.
Leon will be dearly missed and will live in the hearts and minds of his loved ones forever.
Private services will be held for the family at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home and Memory Gardens.
