Obituary

Obituary for Raymond Bryan Crowell Raymond, a devoted husband, cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on March 4, 2026, at the age of 82 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

He is survived by his wife, Mickey Dean Crowell, and his children, Adam (Lisa) and Bryan (Nellie). His grandchildren, Mia, Paul, and Margot Crowell, will also remember him fondly. He is survived by his siblings, Martha Quinn and Mark Crowell, and was preceded in death by his parents, Hinston B. Crowell and Grace Crowell, and his sister, Betty Yvonne Crowell Merideth.

Born on April 4, 1943, in the historic Nation in West Nashville, Tennessee, Raymond, affectionately known as "Bud," was a proud alumnus of Cohn High School, graduating in 1961 as an honor student, athlete, and leader in student government. He earned his BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University in 1965.

Raymond’s professional journey took him to Washington, DC, where he was employed at the FCC, Comsat and eventually retiring from Lockheed Martin. He was instrumental in developing international policies for satellite communications. Bud visited 37 countries and 74 cities during his career.

In his free time, Bud enjoyed digital audio creation, focusing on the music and historical events of the 1960s. Above all, he loved people. His friendly nature and genuine kindness ensured he never met a stranger and always enjoyed a good story. Raymond's legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith will forever live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. May his soul find eternal peace in the loving embrace of his Creator.
