Nellie Katherine Sullivan, a cherished and devoted matriarch, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026. Born on July 21, 1937, Nellie’s life was marked by her unwavering strength, kindness, and deep love for her family. She will be remembered with profound respect and admiration for the lasting impact she had on all who knew her.

Nellie was a beloved wife to George Sullivan Sr., who survives her and stood steadfastly by her side throughout their many years together. Her role as mother was cherished by her children—her daughter Cindy Crouch and son-in-law Russ Crouch, along with her son George Sullivan Jr., all of whom fondly remember her warmth and guidance. Nellie’s legacy continues through her grandchildren: Brittany Bergstrom and her husband Josh, George Sullivan III, Joshua Sullivan, and Ryan Sullivan. She was also a treasured great-grandmother to Isabella and Emma Bergstrom, who brought her immeasurable joy.

She was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Herbert and Mabel King, whose values and love helped shape the woman she became. The memory of her brothers, Jimmy King and Sonny King, lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. Additionally, she is mourned alongside Mary Ann Sullivan, her daughter-in-law, who also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held at Harpeth Hills Memory Garden, Funeral Home, & Cremation Center, located at 9090 TN-100 in Nashville, TN, 37221. The first visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on April 7, 2026, followed by a second visitation on April 8, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A funeral service to celebrate Nellie’s life will immediately follow from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., and she will be laid to rest with dignity in a burial at Harpeth Hills Memory Garden starting at 12:30 p.m. on the same day.
