Nancy Freeman Sain, a native Nashvillian was born on June 1, 1946, and passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025 after a life filled with love, faith, and devotion to others. She graduated from Hillsboro High School, where she proudly served as President of the Theta Omega sorority. She continued her education at Middle Tennessee State University, where she met her future husband, Dale Sain. She later attended Belmont University, where she earned her teaching degree.
For forty years, Nancy devoted herself to teaching at Hillwood Playcare, nurturing generations of children with patience, kindness, and a joyful spirit. She loved music and dancing and always looked forward to reconnecting with her classmates at high-school reunions.
A gifted gardener with a vibrant love of life, Nancy brought beauty, color, and warmth to every space she touched. Her outgoing personality and genuine interest in others made everyone feel welcomed and valued.
Nancy is survived by her son, Dale Leighton Sain of Nashville; her sister, Vicki Freeman Holt, also of Nashville; and several loving nieces and nephews. Her legacy of kindness, devotion, and joyful spirit will live on in the many lives she touched.
A visitation will be held on Saturday December 13, 2025 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home from 9:00am to 11:00am with a private graveside to follow.
