Pegram

Mildred Allene Chester, affectionately known as “Mil” and “Granny Mil", of Pegram, Tennessee passed away peacefully on September 23, 2024. She was born in Manchester, Tennessee on June 27, 1936.

Mildred was known for her joyful and loving spirit as she served God and others. She loved spending time with her family, sewing and gifting baby blankets, and writing poetry and short stories. Over the years, she wrote numerous poems and two books. She also enjoyed cooking, as she was often feeding her ever growing family. She was especially known for her fried chicken and chocolate cakes.

Mildred had a desire for being the best she could be. With the large support of her family, she achieved her GED at the age of sixty years old in 1996. She encouraged others to excel in their own goals, while still achieving her own.

She was an active member of Bellevue Church of Christ in Nashville, Tennessee. This is where she also found her close group of friends known as the “Honeybees”, and she was without a doubt the “Queen Bee”.
