In Loving Memory

Mike Yarbrough, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 27, 2024, at the age of 70 at Centennial Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

He was born on June 16, 1953 in Houston TX and was predeceased by his dearly loved son-in-law Jim Houchin, his loving sister Vera, and brothers Ronnie and Murray. He is survived by his wife Cindy, son Lance, daughter Tish, daughter-in-law Alea, and granddaughters Amber and Fiona as well as brothers Phil, Michael, Jerl and sisters Brinda and Lori in addition to many dear nieces and nephews.

Mike served in the US Air Force from 1972 to 1976 as an Aircraft Environmental Systems Mechanic. He met his wife Cindy when they were both stationed at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico. They married on September 25, 1976 and had 47 years together. They worked hard and happily to build a loving home and raise a close-knit family together.

Mike was a devoted family man. He spent many years providing for his family and always took great joy in spending time with them. He cherished family and always made it a point to bring extended family together to stay close and connected. He was a natural storyteller and loved to entertain with his stories. Being mechanically minded and energetic, he enjoyed fixing things around the house and was always looking for ways to help--not only in his own home but for any family and friends that needed something done. He played baseball, was a star basketball player in high school and also ran track. He immensely enjoyed being actively involved in teaching his children to play these sports. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, tinkering with woodwork, and yearly family vacations.

A celebration of life will be held on April 12, 2024 at 1:30pm at Harpeth Heights Church.

He will forever hold a special place in all our hearts.

In lieu of flowers Charitable donations can be made to The Church at Harpeth Heights 8063 Highway 100 Nashville, TN or JewishVoice.com
