Michael “Mike” Miller was born on December 17, 1968, and passed away on February 2, 2026. He leaves behind a life defined by hard work, curiosity, and deep love for his children and the people around him. Mike earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Tulsa and worked as a financial advisor for JPMorgan. He was always pushing himself to be better—whether through work, fitness, or learning something new—and took pride in doing things well.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Pink Miller and Carolyn Sue Dobbins.
Mike is survived by his three children, Jack Miller, Emma Miller, and Grayson Miller; his brother, Mark (Sherry) Miller; and nephews Brandon (Lindsey) Riley and David (Sara) Riley.
Mike was a devoted father, and his children were the center of his world. His home was the gathering place for his kids, neighbors, and neighborhood children, where evenings were often spent sitting around the fire pit, talking, laughing, and spending time together. His house was where people showed up, stayed awhile, and felt welcome. Mike loved watching his daughter Emma perform in her theater productions and enjoyed sending her pictures of birds and bugs he spotted while outside. With Grayson, he shared a love of the outdoors—especially hunting—and proudly supported Grayson’s athletic goals and lawn care business. With Jack, Mike spent countless hours watching old movies, especially John Wayne films, and building fireworks and catapults together.
Mike enjoyed working with his hands and had a lifelong interest in woodworking and craftsmanship. He loved being outdoors, particularly deer hunting, and in his younger years, he was passionate about powerlifting and staying active. He was an avid reader, especially of science fiction books, and often relaxed on the back porch with music playing.
An active member of the community, Mike volunteered with the Full Moon Pickin’ Party through Warner Parks and supported Friends of Warner Parks. He was also a member of the NRA and Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Mike appreciated life’s simple pleasures, a good cheeseburger, Jim Beam with a Diet Dr Pepper, sitting outside, and spending time with family. His favorite Christmas movie was White Christmas. Above all, he will be remembered for how deeply he cared for his children, his friends, and everyone who was fortunate enough to be part of his life.
Visitation will be held on February 28, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 TN-100, Nashville, TN 37221. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Friends of Warner Parks in Mike Miller’s honor.
