Maynard F. Engler, a devoted Chemical Engineer in the Chemical Industry, passed away at St. Thomas West in Nashville, TN on April 8, 2024. He was born on April 17, 1944, in Allentown, PA.
Maynard is preceded in death by his parents, Francis Jacob, and Bertha Alice Engler.
Maynard is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Glenda Engler; son, Andrew Engler; daughter, Donna (Steve) Kupelian; grandchildren, Lauren, and Audrey; siblings Bruce Engler and Jean (Ron) Fries; as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
In his leisure time, Maynard reveled in his hobbies with enthusiasm. A passionate baseball fan, particularly loyal to the Phillies, Maynard embodied the spirit of a true Philly Fanatic.
Maynard's passion for his work as a Chemical Engineer was evident. His dedication and expertise in the field left a lasting impact. Maynard's educational journey took him through Emmaus High School located in Emmaus, Pennsylvania, and later to Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he honed his knowledge.
Beyond his professional life, Maynard had a rich tapestry of interests that brought him joy. An avid collector of coins and stamps, he found solace in adding unique pieces to his collection. His love for music shone through in his admiration for iconic artists like Elvis Presley and Jimmy Buffet. Maynard's fascination with trains spoke to his appreciation for nostalgia and the beauty of craftsmanship. He also cherished the companionship of his loyal dog, Maggie, who was a constant source of comfort.
One of Maynard's greatest pleasures was found in the simple yet profound joys of nature. The views of the beach and the soothing sounds of the ocean held a special place in his heart, offering moments of tranquility amidst life's hustles.
Maynard found comfort in his faith as a devoted Christian and took pride in being an active member of St. John's Anglican Church. His spiritual beliefs guided him through both joyful moments and trials.
Maynard F. Engler will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his loving family and friends who will carry forward his memory with fondness and admiration.
Visitation will be held April 15th, 2024, from 11:30 to 1:30pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, with the service to follow at 1:30pm. A graveside service will follow at 2:30pm with a reception afterwards located at the Harpeth Hills Pavilion.
