Nashville

Max B Wood, a beloved resident of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on June 22nd, 2024. Max was born on August 20th, 1937, in Hodges, Alabama.

Max is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Maude Wood; siblings, Gene Wood, Joe Wood, Bob Wood, Tommy Wood, Mary Fleming, and Dorothy Hester.

Max is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Bonnie Wood; sons, Rusty (Raeanne) Wood, and Rodney (Dana) Wood; 4 grandchildren, Cullen, Jarrett, Kristin, and Katie; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Max was a graduate of Vina High School and went on to serve in the forces with honor and distinction. Later, he was a Float Control Operator at the Ford Glass Plant and retired after 40 years there. He was also a proud member of the United Auto Workers Local 737.

Those who knew Max best remember him for his honest and kind-hearted nature, his humility, and his strength. He was a great listener, always ready to lend an ear to those in need. A true handyman, Max could fix just about anything and was always willing to help a friend.

Outside of work, Max found joy in gardening and doing yard work. His favorite pastime was traveling to Hodges, Alabama, where he would unwind by hanging out in the barn. Max was also a passionate fan of NASCAR and Alabama football, cheering on his favorite drivers and teams with enthusiasm.

One of Max's proudest accomplishments was being called "Bop" by his grandchildren. He cherished the moments spent with them and took great pride in being a loving grandfather.

Let us remember Max’s kind spirit, generous heart, and love for his family.
