Mattie Marie Cothran was born in Rutherford County, Tennessee, to the late William Buford and Rhoda V. Pinkston on January 12, 1932, and entered eternal rest in Fairview, Tennessee, on August 19, 2026, at the age of 94 years.
Marie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her children, Debbie (Ron) Wynne, Bobby (Faye) Cothran, and Connie Cothran; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of other family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
For 37 years, Marie faithfully served her community as a school bus driver. She later worked at Chick-fil-A in Bellevue, Tennessee, for 12 years, where she was respected and loved by every customer she encountered. Marie was a woman who understood the value of hard work, and she took great pride and joy in everything she did.
Marie loved her family fiercely and cherished her relationship with God and her church family. Her faith was an important part of her life. She especially enjoyed reading her Bible, which she had read from cover to cover many times. Her strong faith, loving spirit, and dedication to those around her were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Marie will be fondly remembered for her hardworking nature, unwavering love for her family, deep faith, and the kindness she showed to others. Her presence touched countless lives, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on through her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing that Marie is now at peace and resting in the loving presence of her Lord.
