Obituary
Mary Helen (Cannon) Poovey, formerly of Spring Hill, TN, passed away on February 28, 2026 at the age of 93 in San Diego, CA. Mary dedicated her life to the care of others as a devoted nurse, serving communities in both Tennessee and California.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lamar Preston Poovey; her sister, Marie Cannon Ward; and her brother, Carson Cannon.
Mary’s legacy lives on through her three sons: Wayne Preston (Melody) Poovey, Richard Daryl (Cheryl) Poovey, and Alan Lee (Kimberly) Poovey. She was a cherished grandmother to 8 and a proud great-grandmother to 13.
Visitation will take place March 18th from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, with services immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
May her memory be a blessing and comfort to all who knew her.
