Elsie "Marie" Caruthers of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on August 6, 2026, at the age of 75. Marie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose family meant the world to her.

Marie shared her life with her beloved husband, David Caruthers. Together they built a lifetime of memories, stories, and cherished moments that will be treasured forever.

Marie was truly her own person. Strong-willed, outspoken, and never afraid to say what was on her mind, she always made sure everyone knew exactly where they stood with her, and she would not have had it any other way. She loved to laugh, enjoyed a good game of Bingo, and had a special fondness for the color pink. Her vibrant personality, unmistakable sense of humor, and unforgettable spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marie was preceded in death by her beloved son, Bart Coss, who passed away in November. Bart's passing left a tremendous void in her heart, a loss she carried with her every day. Her love for her son never faded, and she longed for the day they would be reunited.

Some of Marie's greatest joys in life were found in her family and the love she shared with them. She leaves behind her husband, David Caruthers; her daughter, Mickie Davis (Jim); her grandchildren, Jessica Coss (Sara), Michael Coss (Nicky), Sydney Martin, and Jacob Davis (Victoria); and her great-grandchildren, Callahan Martin and Anderson Davis.

She is also survived by her siblings, James Bohanan (Bobbie), Mary Kathy Baggett, and Linda Bohanan, as well as her cherished best friend, Karen Perdue, who held a special place in Marie's heart.

Marie will be remembered for her strength, honesty, laughter, and larger-than-life personality. While she was never one to hold back her thoughts, beneath her strong exterior was a heart that loved her family fiercely and unconditionally.

Her absence leaves a space that can never be filled, but her laughter, stories, spirit, and the memories she created with those she loved will live on in the hearts of family and friends for generations to come.

Marie was truly one of a kind and will never be forgotten.
