Obituary

Margaret Caldwell Whitmore passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Margaret was born on October 10, 1943, in Birmingham Alabama. She was preceded in Death by her husband of 43 years, Davey Benjamen Whitmore; parents Joella Duke Caldwell and John M. Caldwell; brother John M. Caldwell II; sister JoAnne Caldwell Jones and son, Craig Duane Whitmore.

She is survived by her grandson Tyler Whitmore, his wife Morgan and her great grandsons Hank and Kurt, her step-granddaughter Madison and her children, Alexus, Schandera, Chance, Arabella and Joslyn, her nieces Dawn Burke, Rachel Freeny and Edith Jeffrey.

She graduated from West End High School and majored in accounting at the University of Tennessee. She enjoyed a career in the public relations and advertising industry serving as financial officer with Holder, Kennedy Public Relations and Ericson Marketing Communications. She also served as business manager for the Nashville Ballet prior to retirement.

Margaret continued working past retirement, keeping books for a few close clients. She enjoyed being busy and productive, cooking for others, and taking care of those she cared about.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and encouragement for her grandson and his family, her nieces, her extended Wheeler family, and many dear friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Pavillion at Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens on September 25, 2026, at 11:30. Visitation will be at 10:30. A private interment will follow the service.
