Margaret Jane Stephens passed away on September 29, 2026, at the age of 91.
Born on January 17, 1935, Jane lived a long life that will be remembered with love and respect. She was a sweet and caring lady who always believed in putting family first. She was a giving person, sometimes giving more than she should, and she had a forgiving heart. Jane always saw the best in people and had a special way of making others feel loved and cared for. Her memory will remain with all who knew her and cared for her.
Jane was married to her beloved husband, Bill Stephens, from 1957 until his passing in 2015. Together, they built a life centered around family, love, and the people they held dear.
Jane is predeceased by her mother, Mae Allen; her husband, Bill Stephens; her son, Kenny Stephens; her brother, Henslee Stewart; and her two sisters, Patricia Binkley and Johnnie Mae Meade.
Jane is survived by her daughter Billie Ladd (Michael); her grandson Brandon Buck; her granddaughters Stephanie Wright (Steven) and Janie Ladd; her great-grandchildren, Charlie Mae Wright, Spencer Wright, Reagan Wright, and Lillie Ladd; her sister, Linda Davis (Clifford); her brother, Tony Stewart (Ernestine), and her niece and nephews
Jane was especially proud of her great-grandchildren and cherished every moment she shared with them. Her family was always at the center of her heart, and the love she had for them will continue through the generations.
She also held a special place in her heart for her dear friends at Kingston Springs Church of Christ. The friendships and fellowship she found there were a meaningful part of her life, and those who knew Jane knew how much she loved and appreciated her church family.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on October 6, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Harpeth Hills Memory Garden, Funeral Home, & Cremation Center, 9090 TN-100, Nashville, Tennessee 37221.
