Malcolm E. Barker

Malcolm E. Barker passed away peacefully on June 23, 2023, in Franklin, TN. He was born on April 10, 1925, in Sullivan County, Indiana to the late Claude and Maybelle Barker. He was preceded in death by his loving wife and high school sweetheart, Doris Barker, whom he was married to for almost 76 years.

Malcolm was an Aviation Navigator in the US Navy during World War II and his love of flying and planes continued throughout the years. He also enjoyed working on various projects around the house and taking things apart to see how they worked. His hobbies and interests included produce gardening, traveling, and enjoying his wife Doris's cooking. He loved his family and was a devout Christian, attending the Church of Christ church with his wife Doris, and church members became an

extension of his family as well. He had a big heart and was always willing to help those in need.

Malcolm is survived by his brothers, Bertley (Audrey) Barker and Charles Barker; daughter Lyn (Roger) Rhodes; sons Mike (Wanda) Barker, Russ (Becca) Barker, and Gary (Jan) Barker; grandchildren Amy Barker, Lauren (Isaac) Wang, Nathan Rhodes, Jamey (Kaleb) Hanley, Jenny (Aaron) Hutson, Monica Taylor, and Matthew (Lauren) Barker; as well as 11 great-grandchildren: Harrison, Madison, Hayes, Jace, Hallie, Emmie, Mattingly, McCoy, Blake, Riley, and Holland.

Services will be held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. All those whose lives were touched by Malcolm are welcome to attend.

Malcolm lived a full life surrounded by the love of family and friends. He will be deeply missed but always remembered as a kind-hearted man with an adventurous spirit. May he rest in peace knowing that he will always hold a special place in our hearts.
