Linda Nell Poteete, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, in Dickson, Tennessee. She was 83 years old.
Born on January 23, 1942, in Nashville, Tennessee, Linda was the daughter of Richard Stanley “Pete” Reese and Margie Lois (Moore) Reese. Her early years were shaped by a close-knit family and a deep-rooted faith that would guide her throughout her life.
Linda shared a loving marriage with her husband of 58 years, Felix Alexander (F.A.) Poteete. Together they built a life centered around family and faith. She was a proud and caring mother to her daughter Angela (Malcolm) Davidson and son Robert (Selena) Poteete. Her love extended to her grandchildren—Paige (Cameron Manley) Poteete, Alex Poteete, and Zac Poteete—and she found great joy in her great-grandchildren, Hudson Lee Sharpe, and Hollee Ann Manley.
Linda’s siblings held a special place in her heart. She is remembered fondly by her sisters; Frances Joy Reese Rogers, and Deborah Kaye Reese (Steven) Holt; and by her brothers Billy W. (Melba) Reese, and John Douglas (Joyce) Reese.
A woman of unwavering faith, Linda was an active member of Dickson Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Her strong belief in the Lord was evident in the way she lived—offering kindness, support, and compassion to those around her. Her spiritual strength served as an inspiration to all who knew her.
Linda Nell Poteete’s legacy lives on through the love she gave so freely and the faith that sustained her. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
