Obituary

Lillie Wilma Meadows passed away Saturday August 15, 2026 at the age of 91. Wilma was married for 65 years to her late husband William Guy (Caddy) Meadows. She was the fifth of six children to the late Audie and Lucy Hawks, Helen Marie, Daisy Mae, James Edward, Frank Eugene, and Lois Glenn.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter Susan Beth Burns and her grandson Brian Guy Meadors. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Lynn Meadors, grand-daughter Jennifer Lynn Meadors, grand-son William Thomas Hows III, and great-grandchild Ross Evan Meadors, many nephews and nieces and their children.

Wilma lived with a positive outlook on life admired by her friends and family. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Fairview, and previously at Harpeth Heights Baptist Church. She served as a Sunday school teacher and G.A.’s Leader. She was a member of the Joy Class at Harpeth Heights. She lived her life with a strong faith and depended on the Lord Jesus for her strength and direction.

She was an avid sports fan. She followed all University of Tennessee, Knoxville sports, and was a Founding PSL holder for the Tennessee Titans. Football was her favorite sport. She even had a parrot who sang “Rocky Top.”

She was happiest outdoors where she grew beautiful flowers and vegetables and tended her lawn. She and her husband Caddy owned a cattle ranch, “The Lucky Buck”, They built beautiful homes in the Bellevue community, enjoyed their houseboat, “The Caddy Shack,” and took many family vacations with their girls, and grandchildren on the Florida Coast and Gulf.

Most recently, she enjoyed dining monthly, “The Sister Wilma’s Supper Club,” with her friends Deborah Pitts, Renee Lowrey and Jo McPhail. She loved playing cards regularly with friends and family. She was a formidable opponent! She spent many Monday evenings at Jefferson’s in Fairview eating Fried Pickles with Deborah, Renee and Doc.

Wilma Meadows was the best example of a “Life Well Lived.” She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend.
