Leshia Bess

Leshia Batson Bess of Bellevue, TN passed from this life on December 12, 2023, at the age of 68. She was born on February 2, 1955 to Peggy Jo and Jesse Dewey Batson of Nashville, TN.

Leshia graduated from Bellevue High School in 1973 and MTSU (Alpha Delta Pi) in 1977 before becoming a super teacher in the Metro Nashville Public Schools for over thirty years. Her influence touched the lives of so many that came through her classroom, earning her multiple Teacher of the Year Awards at her schools.

She was preceded in death by her parents Peggy Jo and Jesse Dewey Batson. Her loving spouse of thirty-two years, George Timothy Bess, also preceded her in death in 2017. She is survived by her son, George William (Will) Bess of Nashville, TN and her sister, Pamela Ann Fleming of Nashville, TN.

Family, friends, and all who met her knew of her loving and caring nature. Her Christian faith guided her in raising her family, shaping the lives of her children, and in all aspects of her life.

The absence of her presence will be felt and dearly missed by everyone.
