Obituary

Larry Max Baker, a Nashville native passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026. He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Moore Baker, Son Brian Carl Baker (Candace), Sister Sandra Hime (Larry), his seven grandchildren: Austin Baker (Mercedes), Shelby Lingle (Adam), Erika Baker, Alex Burns (Bailey), Austin Burns, Chelsea Burns, Kendall Collins, and many nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his son Jonathan Chad Baker, parents Austin and Louise Baker.

Larry graduated from Cohn High School in 1969. He then enlisted in the Tennessee Air National Guard 118th Tactical Airlift Wing. He was a SSGT in the 90650 Medical Administrative Special.

Larry was employed by Peterbilt Motors in Madison, TN as a frame designer in the engineering department. Larry had thirty plus years with Peterbilt, retiring in 2009. Larry was very creative. He loved making wood crafts for family and friends. He loved growing a garden and sharing the fruits of his labor with friends.

Larry wore many hats in his lifetime: Scout Master, Little league baseball coach, football coach, CB coach and Secretary of Peterbilt Fishing Club.

Larry loved drawing portraits of family and friends, but the hat Larry loved the most was loving his family, grandkids, great grandkids, nieces and nephews.

For all who knew Larry and loved him, there will be a celebration of his life on March 13, 2026, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Pavilion at Harpeth – located at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens at 9090 Highway 100 Nashville, TN 37221.
