STINSON, Kathryn "Kitt" Saunders -On March 9, Kitt passed away after a long battle with illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles W. Saunders, Jr. and Kathryn Parker Saunders and her sister, Julia Ellen Walker. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Paul, children Tommy Celeste of Berkeley, CA, Kathryn David Quiram of St. Louis, and Neil Lauren of Nashville, and granddaughters Kathryn Elisa, Nora June and Tallulah Adeline, along with many nieces and nephews. Originally from Tallahassee, FL, Kitt graduated from Hillsboro High School and Tennessee Technological University. She attended Blakemore United Methodist Church and Belmont Church. She actively supported Nightingale Community Theater and provided administrative support for various productions at historic venues in the area. She developed a home-based business while maintaining a home and raising her family. She later worked for Seton Healthcare and Vanderbilt Children's Hospital before retiring several years ago. Kitt was a very creative person who loved to cook for her family. She was also a compassionate person who felt the pain of others deeply. Kitt touched many lives with her talent to listen and counsel. Her gifts will be deeply missed by her many friends and family. She loved playing with her Grandchildren who will greatly miss her. Finally, she loved all the little creatures around her house and has been a regular provider for the raccoons, squirrels, possums and birds of Nashville. The memorial service will be on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at 11am, at Blakemore United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
