Kent W. Baldwin, age 72, of Nashville passed away April 7, 2019. He was born May 17, 1946 in Baltimore, MD to the late, Alton Lee and Katherine Sawyer Baldwin. Kent is also preceded in death by his son, Kent Baldwin II.
He came to Nashville in 1969 and started BEMS Inc. He was a master hand engraver of jewelry and precious metals. He engraved for sitting presidents, Vanderbilt, Iroquois Steeplechase, ZZ Top and his work is displayed in local museums.
Kent is survived by his daughter, Danielle Baldwin Franklin; grandson, Chance Aeric Story; granddaughter, Alexandra Noel Franklin; grandson, Race Dylan Smith; granddaughter, Rachel Paige Smith; brother, Ellis "Ditty" Baldwin; brother, Rodney "Butch" Baldwin; weiner dog, Fluke.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. - 12 Noon Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A life celebration memorial service will be held Saturday at 12 Noon in the Chapel. A private inurnment will follow at a later date.
