Obituary

In Loving Memory of Judy Marlin Friedli

“JuJu”

July 30, 1946 – April 12, 2026

Judy Marlin Friedli, a devoted servant of Christ and the beloved "JuJu" to her grandchildren, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 12, 2026, at the age of 79. Throughout her life, and especially in her final days, Judy’s life was a vibrant testament to the power of faith and the promise of eternal life. Even as she faced the end of her earthly journey, she was heard thanking and praising Him. She approached death not with fear, but with the quiet confidence of someone who knew exactly where she was going.

Outside of her spiritual life, Judy was a passionate sports fan. She was a loyal supporter of the Atlanta Braves, rarely missing a chance to cheer on her team. Her love for sport stayed with her until the very end; even on her deathbed, she expressed her desire to watch the Masters golf tournament, finding joy in the competition and the beauty of the game.

A woman of sharp intellect and gentle spirit, Judy grew up with a thirst for excellence, serving as the Salutatorian of Hillwood High School Class of 1964. Her life took an unexpected turn in 1996 following a tragic horse and carriage accident that resulted in a traumatic brain injury. While such an event might have defined or discouraged others, Judy’s faith remained unshaken. She refused to let her injury dim her kindness or her resolve, living the decades that followed with a grace and strength that inspired everyone who knew her.

Her entire family is at peace because she was at peace until the very end. She was not afraid. The strength of her faith was palpable and it was an inspiration to everyone who saw her in her final days. May we all face death with the strength and courage that she displayed. It was a blessing to witness. I (Leanne) will miss her every day, but I also know that she is rejoicing with the Lord and her heavenly family.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Davina Lenee Fisch, her parents, Jack and Lorene Marlin, her brother, Jack “Buddy” Marlin, and brother-in-law Chic Morris.

She is survived by her daughter Leanne Friedli (Derek Carver), grandchildren Savanna Klaffer (Cameron), Georgia Latta and Jaxon Latta (Lila), son-in-law Mark Fisch, sister Nancy Morris, an aunt who was like a sister Glenna Bramble (Ricky), and many loving nieces and nephews who she adored. And in the last year she formed a special bond with Leanne’s family dog, Bugsy, who still waits for her at the foot of her bed.

In honor of Judy’s life, the family requests that you live as she did: with a gentle heart, a fierce love for your family, and an unwavering trust in the Lord.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7
