John Scott Starling

Our amazing father and husband, John Scott Starling, was born on November 17, 1951 in Miami, Florida. He was a faithful and loving husband and father, a dedicated grandfather, and a wonderful brother and friend. He went home to be with Jesus on the evening of September 30, 2025 in Nashville, TN.

His love for God was evident in everything he did. He was always praising the Lord, leading choirs, singing in churches, teaching and preaching the Word of God, and an accomplished author.

He led his family through a life of faithful service and generosity. As a business owner, he used his life and resources to help people, buy food, help the homeless, and give whenever he saw a need while never needing the spotlight. His favorite place was sitting on the beach, fishing pole in hand, and family close by.

He leaves a family legacy including his wife, Debra Starling, daughter Tiffany Starling, daughter and son-in-law Hillary and Joshua White and his eight grandchildren: William, Noah, Annabelle, Abigail, Elizabeth, Judah, Ezra, and Beau.

He served his country in the Army and the Reserves for seven years and was a faithful patriot and loved his country.

He will be remembered as our “Papa “and loved for all eternity by his family as he rejoices in the presence of Jesus, his Lord and Savior.

We know he will be welcomed into heaven with the words. “Well done! My good and faithful servant “. Mathew 25:21.
