Obituary

October 12, 1990 – October 30, 2026

John Michael Shaver II, affectionately known as “Mikey,” passed away on October 30, 2026, at the age of 36.

Born on October 12, 1990, to Michael and Lynda Shaver, Mikey was known for his larger-than-life personality, infectious sense of humor, and ability to bring laughter to those around him. He never met a stranger and had a way of making even the simplest moments memorable.

Mikey was an avid Tennessee Volunteers and NASCAR fan who also enjoyed fishing, spending time with friends and family, and simply living life. He especially cherished the time he spent with Josh, November, and Atlas, who held a special place in his heart. He will be remembered for his fun-loving spirit, the laughter he brought to others, and the countless memories he leaves behind.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Larry and Geraldine Shaver; his maternal grandfather, Junior Williard Sherrill; his maternal step-grandfather, Perry Patton; his aunt, Crystal “GooGoo” Goss; and his uncle, Tony Downing.

Mikey is survived by his father, Michael Shaver; his mother, Lynda Shaver; his sister, Lauren (Tanner) Cox; his nephews, Luke and Bo Cox; his niece, Daisy Cox; his aunts, Brenda (Tim) Sanders and Terri (Jerry) Downing, his grandmother, Dorothy Patton and a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Mikey was loved unconditionally, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
