IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Alan
Harrison
May 4, 1962 – March 11, 2026
John Alan "Alan" Harrison passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the age of 63.
He was born on May 4, 1962, to the late Robert Calvin Harrison and the late Ann Holley Harrison Heard. Alan was the youngest of four children survived by his brothers Robert (Lisa) Harrison, Stephen (Mary/Sissy), and sister, Kathryn (Ray) McCall. He is also survived by four nieces, Ann Marie Kahle, Kristine Neff, Chelsea Harrison, and Holley Henney; two nephews, Chase Harrison and Will Harrison. Alan spent his entire life in Nashville and attended Woodmont Elementary School and St. Paul's Academy. Alan spent most of his life as a residential builder working for Rochford Construction for many years. He later worked for Gianikas Construction as a custom residential builder and later went on to build custom homes on his own.
Alan was happiest on his farm where he later ran an AirBNB - Poplar Creek Stables - where he was surrounded by the animals that he so loved. Alan loved nature, whether being on the lake or at his barn, but always had his animals at the center of his life. He leaves behind his Golden Retriever, Esther; a miniature horse, Spanky; and a miniature donkey, Willis. He also leaves behind an extremely large friend group that has been so important to him over the years. The family is especially grateful to one such friend, Brandon, for his kindness and support of Alan, taking care of him during his final weeks which allowed Alan to be able to stay in his home until the end of his life as he had wished for.
Memorial gifts can be made to the Discovery House in Burns, Tennessee, or the Happy Tales Human of Franklin, Tennessee, in honor of Alan Harrison.
